Hi all,
how are you doing?
I am very excited to discuss with you about the film "Bend it like Beckham", once again! Today, I would like to emphasis on the culture influences, for instance, different traditions of varied cultures.
In the film, Jess's sister was getting married, but to the one whom her parents had assigned for her. This traditional practice is called the "arranged marriage", which you have no right and no freedom to decide for your own marriage. And that happens frequently, especially in most Asian cultures. Unlike Jess's sister, who is excited to marry a typical Indian guy that her parents has decided for her, Jess is dreaming to marry to a football player.
Imagine, how would you react if you were in that situation? How would you feel if you don't have any choices for your marriage?
As a result, we can see that there are varied traditions that people practice and obey in different cultures. In daily life, we often encounter a diversity of people coming from various places, and thus they are influenced by distinct cultures. The most important thing, is to learn to respect the others and their cultures!
Do you agree with me?
Feel free to express you idea below:)
